Q: What is the benefit of using Retinol? Can I use retinol serum together with Alpha Arbutin and Niacinamide serum?

A: Retinol is an ingredient that has been heavily researched upon. Firstly, Retinol stimulates your skin to produce natural collagen, which helps in skin renewal, skin repair and wrinkles.

In addition to the anti-ageing benefits, Retinol helps reduce sebum production, making your skin less oily, thus helping acne-prone skin.

The third benefit of Retinol: it helps increase absorption of other ingredients, mainly Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid and Alpha arbutin. You can most definitely use Retinol with Alpha Arbutin and Niacinamide at the same time.

Q: Is it true that Chlorophyll Water can reduce acne? I’ve seen this topic trend all over TikTok.

A: Chlorophyll Water has a strong antioxidant component that helps reverse damages caused by UV radiation and toxins from our food. However, there hasn’t been any research done that shows the benefits of Chlorophyll Water on acne reduction. Acne reduction is probably due to increased water intake caused by drinking chlorophyll water all day. However, you could most definitely try it as there isn’t any harm to drinking Chlorophyll Water long term.

Q: What’s the best way to treat Rosacea? I first experienced it around three months ago.

A: Rosacea is a common skin condition that causes cheeks and parts of your face to become red quickly. There isn’t any definitive cure for Rosacea, but you can take steps to reduce and prevent Rosacea from occurring.

Rosacea can be triggered by sun exposure, eating spicy food, increased alcohol consumption and stress. As long as you avoid or reduce the rosacea triggers, your concern can be managed much more easily.

Rosacea can also be further prevented by using a combination of Vitamin C and Ferulic Acid daily (try Paula’s Choice C15 Super Booster). However, do consult a skin doctor or contact us at Skynfyx.com if your Rosacea is not decreasing. You might require some antibiotics for severe Rosacea.

Q: My pimples always come out when I have my period, so it will take a while to heal. Do I need to treat them?

A: Pimples occur to most females 1-2 days before getting their period. It’s a common occurrence, so don’t worry too much about it. This is due to an increase in a hormone called progesterone roughly seven days before getting your period.

Progesterone will make your skin oily and acne-prone. One way to reduce the occurrence of acne is to start using a medication called Differin around 7-10 days before your period and stopping it when you get your period. Another way is to consume Evening Primrose Oil supplements daily to reduce the period of acne.

Q: I have a dry patch on my nose area, and it’s tempting to scratch them, even though I already use Cica based products. How to treat them?

A: Dry patches on your skin can be due to many issues: allergies, sensitive skin called dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis or overuse of improper skincare products. It is essential to determine what caused that area to be dry in the first place.

One thing you can try is to use ceramide based products like Ceradan Cream. Ceramides help create a barrier to prevent water loss. This locks moisture into your skin, which helps prevent dryness and irritation. It may also help protect your epidermis from environmental damage. If ceramide doesn’t work for you, please consult your skin doctor at Skynfyx.com.
