From modelling to teaching yoga, Delphine is a young woman who enjoys wearing many hats. “I have multiple professions at the moment and what I love most about them is that I enjoy doing all of them,” mused Delphine, who is also a nutritionist.

“My interest in nutrition naturally came with my active lifestyle. As I progressed in life, I gradually learned about how important nutrition is for the body. Everyone, no matter who they are, can always improve their quality of life by eating the right foods,” explained Delphine.

Through her Instagram account (@del.lim), Delphine allows a glimpse of her hectic yet healthy lifestyle, including her beauty routine. Not surprisingly, she is a fan of natural skincare brands such as Weleda.

In the following Q&A, Delphine reveals more about herself….

You are a nutritionist/model/yoga teacher. Tell us a bit about your background, and how you got involved in these fields.

I’ve always been active since childhood and I feel that who I am now is shaped by practicing ballet at an early age. My interest in nutrition naturally came with my active lifestyle. As I progressed in life, I gradually learned about how important nutrition is for the body. Everyone, no matter who they are, can always improve their quality of life by eating the right foods. I was drawn by this idea and eventually ended up pursuing my studies in this field. Finally, I graduated with a Masters in Nutrition from Imperial College London.

As for modelling, I initially started off doing modelling with friends for fun. I enjoyed it and eventually I started getting paid to do modelling as a freelancer.

Yoga was a funny one.  I joined my first yoga class by accompanying my friend who wanted to try it out and lose some weight. Well, the shoe fitted, and I got hooked. As I got better, I knew I wanted to be able to bring this practice to my friends and family so I started my training to become a yoga teacher.

What’s the biggest lesson learnt during the pandemic?

Don’t let a difficult situation let you down but take it as an obstacle to overcome and grow. I’m naturally an outgoing person so the first few weeks of lockdown were very difficult for me. However, I took the lockdown as an opportunity to learn more about myself. With more time to myself, I tried out various activities that I had always wanted to try. I started video editing and made yoga videos for Youtube. I also started part-timing in digital marketing and even picked up photography.

What is your beauty routine like?

Simple! During the day I would cleanse, moisturise and use SPF. At night I would double cleanse, use a serum and then an oil moisturiser.

What are your must-have beauty products?

Rose Hip Oil from Root Remedies, Comfy Water Sunscreen from Purito and everything from Weleda’s Almond range!

Speaking of Weleda, what do you like best about the brand?

The things I like most about Weleda are its high-quality and cruelty-free ingredients, sustainable production practices, and recyclable packaging.

When you have free time, what forms of wellness do you indulge in?

Crocheting! Probably not your typical form of wellness but it is a hobby that has helped to keep me sane throughout MCO. Honestly, it’s really meditative and I’ve even used it to help people. I worked together with charities and sold my crocheted items to raise money for them.

What gets you down? And what do you normally do to get out of a negative situation?

Comparing myself with others is kind of inevitable since I use social media. To get out of a negative situation, I would exercise, listen to some good tunes and clean up my room. Odd I know, but it is very therapeutic for me and I get a neat room at the end of it!

In your opinion, how does yoga help a person during the pandemic?

Yoga is accessible to pretty much everyone and requires no equipment other than a mat so it is very easy to start – which is usually the hardest part! Personally, I think it is great during lockdown because it helps you to clear your mind, get moving and feel good afterward.

What do you love most about your chosen profession?

I have multiple professions at the moment and what I love most about them is that I enjoy doing all of them.

What’s your advice to younger women who want to follow in your footsteps?

Always reflect on yourself and how you treat others.

What does self-love mean to you?

To be comfortable in my own skin and be okay that I am not perfect.

Stay tuned as Delphine embarks on a self-care journey with natural wellness brand Weleda. For more on this, check out @myeppo.official on Instagram.
