Healthy Foods For Ramadan

We are about a week away from celebrating Raya Aidilfitiri. If you’re running out of food ideas to break fast, Sahur and Moreh (feast given after terawih prayers), we’ve got a full course for you to try from HealthifyMe!

SAHUR – BANANA & PEANUT BUTTER OAT

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoon of oat
  • 1 glass of low fat milk
  • 1 teaspoon of peanut butter
  • 1 small banana

BREAK FAST – CHICKEN CHOP

Grab a complete meal of mashed potato, chicken chop and steamed vegetables. Don’t forget fruits like mangoes and a glass of plain water.

Chicken Chop Ingredients:

  • 1 piece of boneless chicken leg
  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 clove of grated garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of black pepper

Chicken Chop cooking method: 

  • Marinate all the ingredients for 30 minutes
  • Pan Fry the chicken with little oil with medium heat 7 to 10 minutes

Gravy Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • Half bulb of chopped holland onion
  • 0.5 cup of thin sliced mushroom
  • 1 clove of grated garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of plain flour
  • 200ml of water, chicken or vegetable stock
  • Salt to taste
  • Soy sauce (optional)

Gravy Cooking Method:

  • Melt the butter with medium heat
  • Add holland onion and saute it
  • Then, add garlic, black pepper and sliced mushroom
  • Next, add plain flour and mix well. Keep stirring to prevent from burning
  • Lastly, add water and salt
  • Add soy sauce as  required colour (optional)

MOREH – CRACKERS AND MILK

  • 3 pieces of low fat high fibre crackers
  • 1 glass of low fat milk
