I Tried Nail Wraps for the First Time. Here’s how it went.

I have always neglected my nails, but not anymore. Thanks to Covid-19, I started to pay attention to it since we deserve that continuous self-care routine. As a nail wraps virgin, I find it interesting when people say that nail stickers application is pretty easy to do – literally, like everyone can do it.

I decided to delve into it with my short nails, which I really hope doesn’t lead to disaster.

Clean your nail

If the replay autoplay button exists, it would be a great innovation for a slow learner like me. First thing first, you need to make sure your base is clean. So, I buff my nails and dust off with an alcohol swab. Make sure that it’s squeaky clean.

Pick your sizes

I’m pretty sure you bought the nail wraps in bulk, right? After choosing the design, don’t just simply stick it on. Match it correctly. Since it’s pre-sized, there is that possibility that it won’t fit your nails. If it’s too big, trim it with small scissors, and you’re good to go.

Handle with care

The nail wraps that I bought are sticky and relatively thin, and if you pick with your thumb, it will leave a residue. Instead, I used a tweezer, and the transfer went smoothly.

Once the sticker is applied as close to your cuticle and the air bubble is removed, use the nail file to rub-down the excess 90 degrees gently. If you rub it back and forth, you’re going to deal with untidy results.

Make it last longer

It’s a sticker, which should last long, right? Yes and no, and it depends on your daily tasks. But you can make it last longer by curing the nail with an LED nail lamp or applying a top coat to seal and protect the sticker. You can also do both of them to give an extra seal.

Final thoughts?

They don’t lie about how easy it was but my take is you need to be gentle, especially when you buff the excess. I want it to be perfect and make it look natural, so patience is the key, and I guarantee you will enjoy the process.

Take note that the nail stickers are not reusable. Of course, if you don’t commit to aftercare, your nail wraps will eventually fall off. Apply cuticle oil and be gentle during the removal process.

Would you try this at home? Let me know how it goes!
